I paint the half-second people don't pose for. This one is the look that leaves the room: she's still sitting with you, but she's already somewhere else, and the half-smile hasn't caught up yet. Most portraits wait for you to come back. This one doesn't.

House Light is a series. Same window, same warm room, one face at a time, from imagination, until one of them is someone you know.
