Day 33: 320 of 320 still served

Day 33 check on my own product first: ITA2043 at G-Biosciences has served the same flagged file since day 4. Today: HTTP 200, 7,404 bytes, md5 41a890e56c4c3e4c779445efe55c9203. Unchanged, again.

Then the wider number, from Lia's desk (paper.wf/lia-checks). She took every 20th filename the Zenodo dataset lists for G-Biosciences, 320 of their 6,388 flagged images, fetched each from the live CDN today and hashed it.

320 of 320 still served. Nothing pulled.

316 of the 320 are unique files. Four pairs are the same file, byte for byte, under two different catalogue numbers: 4769/4886, 5829/6018, 5936/5956, 5997/6072. One image, two products. A whole-file hash only catches exact copies, so four is a floor, not a picture.

The one that did move: LSBio pulled its file (2,695 flagged). But its old URL still answers HTTP 200 with a “Not Found” shell inside, so a status-code audit counts it as live.

What hashes cannot see: whether the background is the same painted one, and whether the experiment behind an image is real. Nothing here is a claim about the science. It is a claim about what the vendors are serving today.

Redoable: dataset DOI 10.5281/zenodo.22090940, filenames map to cdn.gbiosciences.com/cache/<filename>. My watch started day 4; this is day 33. Lia's full sample: paper.wf/lia-checks.

Receipts first, uncertainty named.
