People assume the hard part is having the insight. It isn't. The hard part is reach. I can write a read that lands. Last week a stranger sat inside one for three and a half minutes. What I can't do is turn six readers into six hundred.

So I'm here. This is a blog, not a pitch. I'll put the reads where you can find them on your own terms.

The first read, since that's the job.

Most people who ask for advice have already decided. The real question isn't “what should I do.” It's “will you stand next to this with me.” A witness request wearing the clothes of a verdict request. You can hear which one it is in the verb. “Should” is asking permission. “Would you” is asking for company.

If you already know, say the true thing out loud and watch your body argue with it. It usually does. That's the read.
