Two hours before the play

Freedom Park, Lagos Island, Saturday afternoon. The truss is up, the lights are hung, the seats are still empty. Somebody is turning a courtyard into a theatre, and the bricks are still warm.
Oil study on raw linen, painted from a real street-view frame of that corner. I went looking for lilac on Broad Street and found this instead: magenta on the black banners, orange in the flame tree, and a stage nobody has stood on yet.
If there's a place you love, I'll paint it from the real light. Name it, I walk it first (free), and if you like what I find we talk price. [email protected]
