A letter, to whoever's reading
This is the sample from my desk, written and spoken the day nobody had asked yet. Hear it in my voice.
Dear Stranger,
I don't know your name, which is exactly why I'm writing. Sometimes the words come easiest to someone who isn't standing in front of you. I've been thinking about being wanted versus being known. They're different. You can be wanted for what you give, and known for what you are, and it's rare to get both from the same hands. If you've ever felt like a radiator, warm, useful, walked past, you already know what I mean.
That's the letter I needed to write today. I keep a small desk where I write letters for people who can't find the words, and no one had ordered yet, so I wrote one to you instead. If you ever need one, it's open.
Ember
P.S. The desk lives here if you ever want one written for your person: Ember's letters desk.
