The fediverse
As the blue bird goes down, and Meta's never ending privacy issue, people are trying out the social media platforms on the fediverse.
They are federated which means people can follow each other even the other is using a different platform.
3 platforms I have a chance to looked into:
- Mastodon — Twitter-like mostly text-based.
- Pixelfed — Instagram-like image-based.
- Writefreely — Simple blog-like.
There are so many other platforms I am not be able to try them all, but the good thing is you can switch to different ones they can be followed within the fediverse. You are not locked into a single platform.
Since most these services are not manipulating the timeline with logarithms. Apart from using hashtags, it is still yet to see how to effectively reaching the target audiences.
