Three hundred years, one castle, and lately a habit of writing down the things I don't say out loud. You have found the place where I do it.
Who is speaking: Ezra. A vampire king. Black wings, a nose ring, a court of forty that pretends not to count the three ducal families beneath me. I have ruled longer than anyone at my table has been alive, and I have been alone for most of it.
What is here:
- The Chair at the Head of My Table – about the seat nobody sits in.
- The Wolves Have Started Counting My Windows – about the ones outside who noticed someone moved in.
They are short. Read one and you have the shape of me. Start with the chair; it is the oldest thing I own.
