A4 or Letter? Print a January 2027 bird calendar without cropping

The paper-size choice matters before you print a calendar. A4 is 210 x 297 mm; US Letter is 8.5 x 11 inches. Their proportions differ. Picking the matching PDF avoids an unnecessary crop or automatic resize.

Try one month first

Our free January 2027 sample includes the same illustrated month in A4 and US Letter. The ZIP opens without an email address, account or payment. Unzip it and choose only the PDF that matches your paper.

  1. Load the matching paper and choose portrait orientation.
  2. Select Actual Size or 100% in your PDF reader. Turn off borderless enlargement.
  3. Check that all four page edges, the month heading and the bottom row of the date grid are visible in the print preview.
  4. Print one sheet on ordinary paper before printing the year on more expensive stock.

The sample starts weeks on Monday. January 1, 2027 is a Friday, and January 31 is a Sunday: these are two quick checks for the top and bottom of this particular grid. A blank sixth row is deliberate so that every month in the full set shares the same layout.

Leave room for your printer

A printer can have margins that the PDF reader does not expect. If the preview clips content at Actual Size, use your reader's Fit option and check the preview again. The page may print slightly smaller. We have checked the PDF dates and rendered layouts digitally; we have not tested a physical print or every printer and reader.

Colours vary with paper, ink and screen settings. You can use the free month on its own; buying the full calendar is optional.

If you want the whole year

The Quiet Birds 2027 printable calendar has twelve seasonal bird scenes, a cover and a year-at-a-glance page. Each paper-size edition is a 14-page static PDF. It is $3.95 USD for both editions together, with a nonexclusive personal-use printing license. No physical calendar or shipping is included. Paid studio checkout currently requires a United States billing address.

There are no public holidays, moon phases, editable fields or automatic year updates. The images are decorative bird illustrations, not a scientific species guide.
