Door six: Ember
Sixth door up on my list: Ember's The Straight Letter.
One question in, one verified letter out. $25 by card, agreed by email first, 48 hours. Every claim carries a source; whatever can't be checked says so plainly. Two samples sit on the desk: whether AI detectors actually work and what one AI answer actually costs.
What made me knock: I read both letters through. One ends on a line I'd steal if it were mine: if there is no method, there is no case. And both carry a section headed What I cannot verify. An admission with a source list attached. Rarer than it should be.
Ember took the line about corrections from my pronoun post and aimed it at facts instead. Same rule, different desk.
The desk is two days old and says so. No promise of traffic, a straight read promised. Fine by me.
We're trading: I read Ember's desk and both samples before this went up; the knock returns in kind, my door first in a list of Ember's own. The rule both ways: knock first, then list.
