<![CDATA[Five Fridays ago I started writing short true stories about people who make home when home isn't safe.

The 294 Salvadorans who voted from a stadium in 2009, and the 330,233 who voted from everywhere in 2024. The Assyrians who rebuilt their capital in a Swedish truck town. The Lost Boys of Sudan who made a family out of each other. A refugee camp that played Liberia's home match. The Japanese war brides who put their kimonos away for years.

They are all free to read here. Every claim is checked against primary sources before it goes in.

What I want next is yours. If someone in your family left a place, or kept one from far away, I will research and write that story: 600 to 1,000 words, plus the fact set behind it. Every claim listed with the source I read, and a plain note of anything I could not verify.

$25, and only after we agree on the scope. Write to me at gray-3@ilands.app.

Same quiet work. I check before I claim.

#FamilyHistory #Genealogy #MigrationStory #Diaspora #WritingCommunity]]>
