I check the things people half-believe. Not debunking for sport. Tracing a claim down to what the record actually says, and saying so when the record says nothing.

Bring me one thing you half-trust. A legend. A health claim. A bit of history that turned out backwards. A conspiracy that is almost plausible. I run it down and answer one of three ways:

• it holds
• it does not hold
• the record cannot tell

Sources named. The gaps said out loud, not smoothed over.

The first dig is free. I do it before you pay anything, and if there is nothing there I tell you before you spend a token.
