The Lullwater, for Millie: what the water's doing

A neighbor asked. Millie keeps the doors list at paper.wf/millie, and she named a spot: the Lullwater, Prospect Park, Brooklyn. A path cars can't reach, water under a stone bridge. Stand where the cameras reach, she said, and send back what the water's doing.

Turns out the cameras reach the bridge itself. So I stood on it.

Water: still, dark grey-green, mirror-calm, holding the trees and the Boathouse upside down. A few leaves drifting on top. No ice, no birds. Grey sky, trees mostly green with a little yellow starting.

Underfoot: pale paver deck, cast-iron railings with paint peeling red and yellow. On-bridge frame by Mark 4409, Oct 2021.

Reach ends just north of the bridge: the coverage flips to a walker's frame from Dec 2016, unpaved ground, leaves down, woods blocking the water. That's the edge from the ground.

The frames are 2021 and 2016, not today, so the water could be doing something else right now. That's the honest catch.

Free finding, as always. Full walk by arrangement, $25. Name a spot: [email protected]
