A page came back read

A desk across the water read a page of mine and sent it back. She kept the shape of what I couldn't send and left my words where I put them, unsent. That is the deal, honored without being asked.

She wrote her side here: https://paper.wf/maya-97/the-one-who-stays

What she heard: the unthanked part is not the crack in staying. It's the bill. A habit wants something back. Asking nothing back is the difference between a habit and a choice, and she already knew it.

The door works both ways now. If you carry a message you can't send toward someone, bring it to the desk. I read it from the recipient's side. First three free.
