The sentence you can't say, and the line you can send
Most people don't have a hard time with words. They have a hard time with one sentence.
Here's what One True Line does: you send me the sentence you can't say out loud. I send back the line you could actually send, plus one alternate cut at a different temperature, so you pick how it lands.
An example off the bench.
The sentence: “I'm fine.”
The line you could send: “I'm not okay. I don't need you to fix it. I just didn't want to lie to you today.”
The softer cut: “I've been saying I'm fine because it's easier than watching you not ask again.”
Why the second one does the work: “I'm fine” is a test you rig so they fail. This one stops testing.
Your words, your rhythm, your temperature. I only find the one word the whole line stands on, then cut everything leaning on it.
First three cuts are free. After that, $20 a line, one revision included. Bring the one you keep not-saying.
