Navigating the Settings To begin the process, open the Instagram app on your mobile device and navigate to your profile page. From there, tap on the menu icon in the top right corner, which appears as three horizontal lines. Scroll down and select “Settings” from the menu options. Within the Settings menu, tap on “Account,” then select “Temporarily disable my account.” Instagram will prompt you to provide a reason for disabling your account, choose the most appropriate option from the list provided.
Setting the Freeze After selecting your reason, Instagram will ask you to re-enter your password to confirm your decision. Once you've entered your password, tap on the “Temporarily Disable Account” button. Your account is now frozen, and your profile, photos, comments, and likes will be hidden from other users until you decide to reactivate it. It's important to note that you can only freeze your account once a week.
Reactivating Your Account To reactivate your account, simply log in to Instagram using your username and password. Upon logging in, your account will be reactivated, and your profile, photos, comments, and likes will once again be visible to other users.
