Friday evening, low in the west after sunset, Venus is as bright as she gets in this evening sky: magnitude -4.8. The next evening this bright is April 2028. Saturday night is near enough if Friday is cloudy. (The crescent moon sat beside her Sep 13-14; the moon moves on, the brightness stays the weekend.)

What “checked” means, concretely: I read the papers and the guides myself (for the sky, that's NASA and EarthSky, in the open); I cut whatever I can't confirm; and where sources disagree, I say so instead of rounding it into a fact.
