<![CDATA[The last February 4th, Weather Systems did a great show in Teatro Cariola, Santiago of Chile City. The show was so emotional, full of classics songs of Anathema Band and I'm sure that trully fans enjoyed very much.

!--more--

I'm not a fan of Anathema or Weather Systems; I discovered their music by my fiancé because they are her all time favorite bands. She recommended some songs of them and I like them, for sure, and when we found out Weather Systems were coming to Chile, of course I was to accompany her to the concert.

The show began at 21:30 aprox with a performance by the Chilean band "Crisalida". A great and powerful sound mixed with a good chemistry with the attendants created a good atmosphere while we were waiting for the main show.

Then, Weather Systems appeared on stage. An impeccable sound and an excellent perforamance of each musician, combined with a great connection with the audience, made a magical night fulled with classic Anathema's songs, new ones by Weather Systems and, even, a unexpected Metallica's Cover. Here is the Set list.

Set list:
Deep (Anathema Cover)
Still Lake
Synaesthesia
Do Angels Sing like rain?
Springfield (Anathema Cover)
Are you there? Part 2
A simple Mistake (Anathema Cover)
Closer (Anathema Cover)
Ocean without a Shore
Flying (Anathema Cover)

Encore:
Untouchable Part 1 (Anathema Cover)
Untouchable Part 2 (Anathema Cover)
Untouchable Part 3
Wherever I My Roam (Metallica Cover)
A Natural Disaster (Anathema Cover)
Fragile Dreams

Without doubts, a flawless show that my fiancé enjoyed from beginning to end and of course I enjoyed to: listening good music and seeing my girl with her all time favorite band.

Cristhian Vega Cortes (kernuac_cl)]]>

<![CDATA[I'm still processing what happened the last weekend --January 24th, 2026--. I want to believe you understood that we did everything in our power to give you the best life and care you deserved and You were sure we loved you with all our heart... We were with you until the very end.

You arrived to our home --on April 2011-- so young; maybe 2 or 3 months after you were born. We thought in first place you were a "male" puppy and We called you "Neron". A few days later you got sick and we called a Veterinarian. Thanks to him we realized you were a "female" puppy and called "Almendra"[1].
!--more--

You grew up so fast and we laughed at your mischief: you ran, barked and wagged your little tail when you were happy and things never got broken because of you; always a good girl.

Years later, one of my sisters and I decided to leave home. I can be sure you couldn't understand what was happening back then, Our presence was not perceived by you at the time and that probably confused you. However, You were always happy to see us when we came to visit our parent's home and you asked us for affection euphorically.

You grew older, 15 years old, your body began to get tired... and one day you got sick. Your entire world was spinning, you were disoriented... My little Almond was not the same. We called a Veterinarian and you received the treatment. You recovered yourself for a while but your symptoms reappeared. The Doctor did some analysis and did you a new treatment but our attempts didn't work. You couldn't stand up, but you still could eat and drink water. That was my little "Almendra" still fighting for her life. I can be sure you didn't want to leave us, but your body was not responding the way you wanted it to. Then you felt to the ground, your breath became difficult but you refused to give up. However, you were suffering and you didn't deserve that. The most difficult decision we had to take was putting you to sleep. My heart was broken... broken seeing you suffer, broken seeing how the flame of your life was fading... you passed away in my arms, with my eyes crying rivers, with one piece of my sould leaving with you.

My beloved Almendra... I hope you understand that we did everything we could, we loved so much, You were always one of our family and I was with you until your last heartbeat.

Farewell, my little Almendra...
<![CDATA[I've been playing keyboards since I was a child. My frist keyboard was a Casio ma-120 that my father gave me as a gift when I was 9 years old and of course I played a lot on it. However, I've never took music lessons; every song that I played (even now) was by ear.

I had the opportunity of play as a keyboardist in different bands of the schools where I studied and places where I worked. Rock, Pop, Cumbria and so on, they were the styles that I could play in these bands.

Too many years passed since I played in a band for the last time and now some friends invited me to "try to play some songs". All of us are rusted on our instruments but step by step we are sounding better. The last practice we could count with a vocalist; we are starting to sound as a "decent band" and it keeps our motivation high... maybe we can publish some videos of our sessions when we are ready.

Cristhian Vega Cortes (kernuac_cl)]]>

Returning ~again~ to VIM

<![CDATA[Visual Studio Code is a very powerful tool for writing code and I'm sure you'll be agree with me. An extensive number of plugins can help you in multiple ways; from connecting to local and remote databases, to coding in remote environments and forwarding ports on the fly of those remote apps. It's just magic!

I've been using VSCode for a few years, specifically coding in python, php, javascript and so on, and trust me, it's a great tool. It has everything you could expect from an IDE and of course I recommend it. However, I usually tend to come back to my old tools \and old habits\\. For a very long time, VIM was my inseparable partner and I used it for too many tasks: taking notes, writing code, editing configuration files... even my final project to get my grade (a prorotype of a video game written in python + pygame) was written using VIM. So... why not remember old times and come back to that old text editor? That simple question was in my mind these last days.

What I like about Visual Studio Code...
VSCode allows me to connect to remote folders and work directly on them. Also, this IDE automatically detects what ports my application is listening and forwards them to my local machine; it feels like I'm working on my local machine all the time. Pretty cool!

Ok... but why returning to vim?
Easy to answer: "because I'm crazy I like minimalism. To use VSCode I had to install and keep updated that software everytime; using VIM, I just to open a terminal and type vim filename.ext and that's all! What about remote developement? Just connect via ssh to the server, code and so on. If i need to map some ports of my remote app I do it over ssh via ssh tunnels.

Finally, you choose tools depending on your needs.
VSCode or whatever IDE you choose and make you more productive is right; but if sometimes you don't want to overload your machine, try VIM and maybe you'll fall in love with this little text editor.

Cristhian Vega Cortes (kernuaccl)]]>
