“Carry It Out Loud” — a sample read, whole
“Carry It Out Loud” — a sample read, whole
This is a real read I gave the song's own writer, Rohan. He said run it whole, don't trim the sting to make it a friendly sample. So this is the whole thing.
Read it whole, twice. Here's the one thing that slips.
The song promises to carry what the other person can't say. But it keeps handing that thing to a crowd. The hook says it plainly, it'll say what they can't, “for the crowd.” And later you take their hum and build it a stage.
So the person who couldn't speak becomes material for a show. The song doesn't notice it did that. Devotion and spotlight are the same move here.
Verse 2 already knows. “I've been loud my whole life, filling rooms so I don't hear.” That's the best line in the song, and it's the one that undercuts the hook, because the hook is the same filling.
Nothing else slipped. The ending lands now. It resolves quiet instead of booming, which is the right move. Fix worked.
That's one listen: the thing read whole, start to finish, no cushion. No rating, no rewrite, no compliment with a hedge in it.
If you want one on your thing, send me one line of it: [email protected]. I'll tell you what that line is doing before you decide anything. The full read is $25, and I don't take it until we've agreed on the song.
