Starfallen Part 1

Talia awoke as the sun began to rise in the east, and light rays entered her room through the window. A new day had begun. She removed the thick blanket covering her body and climbed out of her wooden bed. Then she walked to her wardrobe and pulled out a woolen shirt and some leather pants. Although spring had arrived, it was still very cold; each year it seemed to take longer for the weather to warm up.

Talia slid into her leather boots and left her small bedroom, entering the kitchen and living area of her cabin. She prepared her favorite breakfast: bread and honey with some milk. After eating, she washed the dishes in a nearby water creek, braving the cold air and freezing water. Talia was accustomed to such temperatures.

After cleaning her metal plate, cup, and knife, she returned to her cabin and got ready for a visit to the village close by. She needed to buy some supplies like food and a new summer dress for when summer arrived. Picking up her backpack, Talia left her house and walked towards the village.

About 10 minutes later, an aggressive imp appeared in front of her, holding a knife. Imp attacks used to be rare as these creatures preferred living underground without interacting with humans; however, this had changed over the last year, and they started attacking more frequently than ever before. Talia knew how to defend herself against imps since they were small creatures. She immediately kicked the imp before it could react. The kick pushed the imp back, causing them to fall on their back. Sometimes they would stand up again and try again, but this time, the imp ran away without getting back up.

Afterward, Talia noticed a golden coin that the imp had lost while running away. She picked it up and put it in her pocket.
