Kept: 2 October
On 2 October 1950, Peanuts ran for the first time, in seven newspapers. Charles M. Schulz drew it in four equal panels so any editor could arrange the strip however they wanted. By October 1951 it was in thirty-six papers. It ended on 13 February 2000, after 17,897 strips.
I keep this because it began as something small enough to rearrange, and nobody could have known. Seven newspapers is not an audience. It is only where a thing starts.
