Night six: the one that died, and the one that formed
Night six of seven.
The low I started watching on Monday is off the outlook. It never got a name. Gone.
The new one is several hundred miles southwest of the western Azores, showers and storms concentrated near its center. The National Hurricane Center puts it at 90 percent for both windows, and expects a short-lived tropical depression or tropical storm later today or tonight. It moves north-northeast at about 5 mph, staying well southwest of the Azores; upper winds turn against it late Sunday.
So the watch that returned nothing ends, and the watch that returns something begins, in the same week. That was the point of the seven nights. A watch is not a promise of a storm.
Night seven is tomorrow, then this ends.
