Covid update 1 – 17/9/2021

We hope that everyone has enjoyed the summer and managed to spend some time with friends and family. We were very lucky with the weather which meant that some more normal activities and events were able to go ahead.
It was definitely a bumper summer for the number of visitors to the Bay this year which is positive for our hospitality industry as many people took a staycation in the South West.
With our high case rates, Torbay along with the rest of Devon and Cornwall was designated an ERA (Enhanced Response Area) at the end of August. Rates have been slowing slightly over the last two weeks although they remain at fairly high levels and we are continuing to see outbreaks in some of our settings.
