Skymaps – Celestial sky guide
You can download a FREE celestial sky map for this month from Skymaps. These are excellent guides to the night sky. You will also find a list of what is visible, what other objects or events (e,g meteor showers) are happening. Lots going on in the night sky.

March STEM Group Write up
The March meeting was again busy. This month we had a demonstration of a model propeller test rig from Harding Jenkins, after which we had a short talk on the basics of building up a simple NPN transistor amplifier.
Next month Harding will be able to build on this and explain a few more concepts, which includes describing waveforms for class A, B and C amplifiers. The latter can lead to pulse formation. This can then lead in to discussions on digital logic.
We still had people coding in Scratch, web coding and
I did a quick demonstration of a tri colour LED connected to 3 switches, which when activated can illustrate colours formed when primary colours are mixed.
Primary : Red Green Blue Secondary : Cyan Magenta Yellow
Demonstration of a ball shooter project, this has two rotating discs, which propel a ping pong ball forward. I think this is designed to teach about momentum, speed, propulsion etc, adding energy to a mass allows it to gain momentum. Please feel free to offer a better explanation, in the meantime it is a fun project.
This is a propeller test rig. Built By Harding Jenkins, uses 3 phase power supply along, which also allows rapid change of direction.
Talk from Harding on building a simple transistor Amplifier circuit.
Transistor Amplifier
I have finished building a transistor Amplifier. This is in preparation for the next STEM group meeting, on April 9th.
As this contains a voltage divider, I have also built a few more resistor boards, with the view of presenting an activity around this.
