Japan SLIM Mission
This week saw Japan become only the 5th country to land on the moon. This has been achieved using their SLIM mission, Smart Lander for Investigating the Moon (SLIM).
At the time of writing this, the mission status is that they landed on the moon, but there are issues with the solar panels preventing power to the lander. However, landing on the moon is very difficult. So this success proved the technology worked.
More information will be available in due course, in the meantime there is a link to the mission website below.

India Moon mission
There doesn't seem to have been much in the news about this, but India's mission to the moon is past another critical stage.
This is really important for the country but hopefully also for humanity as with any luck we will actually start to collaborate on exploration.

Euclid meets launches this weekend.
The EU Euclid mission to study nature of dark energy and dark matter. is due to launch this weekend.
Euclid is an ESA mission to map the geometry of the Universe and better understand the mysterious dark matter and dark energy, which make up most of the energy budget of the cosmos. The mission will investigate the distance-redshift relationship and the evolution of cosmic structures by measuring shapes and redshifts of galaxies and clusters of galaxies out to redshifts ~2, or equivalently to a look-back time of 10 billion years. In this way, Euclid will cover the entire period over which dark energy played a significant role in accelerating the expansion of the Universe. [1]
There is also a comprehensive launch kit available [2] in English and other languages from.
