Wildlife adaptation
Two research articles posted to the Fediverse, seem to be on a related topic. How wildlife can adapt to climate change. Firstly we have a paper on Cross-species gut microbiota transplantation predictably affects host heat tolerance. This was published in the Journal of Experimental Biology
The second article is A River’s Microbiome May Protect Wild Salmon Against Malnutrition which is published on fhe Forbes website.
Looks like the animal kingdom is able, to a point to adapt to changing conditions. In the case of the 2nd link, then microbioms are playing an importnat role here, and I guess these can also change depending on conditions, if these small organims are affected by both heat and chemical changes in water.
I am not a biologist but I do feel the two articles are related, hence posting links to both.
