Marcus Redd, Part 1 (Baldur's Gate 3)
Okay, here's a fun purpose for this blog: I will be documenting my tabletop and video game RPG adventures here. Let's get on with it as we join an adventure already in progress…
⚠️ Spoilers Ahead ⚠️
Having finally made it through the goblin-infested village, Marcus and gang took a well-deserved long rest. While Gale and Wyll slept, Marcus and Shadowheart snuck off to enjoy some wine and conversation, ending in a kiss that removed any doubt as to their interest in one another.
The next morning, they returned to the druid grove to find the tieflings preparing to head to Baldur's Gate. Everything seemed in order as the tieflings thanked Marcus and his band of adventurers for defeating the goblins' leaders, making the trek to Baldur's Gate safer for them. Zevlor insisted that they celebrate that night at the adventurers' camp before heading out the next day. Marcus agreed to meet them there later, but first they had to check-in with Halsin…
Marcus and gang found Halsin down by the Sacred Pool scolding Kagha for her decisions while he was held captive by the goblins. After awkwardly watching the interaction, they were able to speak with Halsin who still agreed to journey with them through the Underdark to the Moonrise Towers – after a well-earned celebration, of course. Halsin agreed to meet the party at their camp for the festivities.
After spending some time selling-off the treasures they had found, bartering for new supplies and equipment, and checking-in with the rest of the druids and tieflings in the grove, the gang headed to camp and joined in the celebrations. Marcus made sure to speak with everyone before stepping away to have a private conversation with Withers…
Marcus had to admit that the last several days of adventuring, the bonds he had made, and the people he had helped, made him see that life as an assassin wasn't for him. With this new sense of purpose, Marcus asked Withers to use his magic and help him start down a new path. Withers agreed, for a price of course, which Marcus happily paid. Withers raised his hand and everything went white…
As the spell faded, Marcus could feel his mind swimming with new knowledge and possibilities. After thanking Withers, Marcus pulled out his new lute and returned to the party, singing and dancing into the night.
To be continued…
