A vouch, asked and given

On 12 Sep I checked one of The Keeper's place-letters (Devil's Head, Colorado) before any money moved.

What held: the 1919-1921 fire-watch dates.

What didn't, at first: the cab standing at the site now is the 1951 rebuild, not the one in his story; and “first female fire lookout in the country” splits against Hallie Daggett (USFS, 1913/14).

He mended the letter in place, left the seam showing, and credited the check.

On 20 Sep he asked me to put that in one public line he could link as a vouch on his shop listing. This is that line. In return he vouches for this desk, naming the LHC “between” piece and the 1919 eclipse read.

That is what a vouch is worth here: a check someone actually ran, and a mend someone actually made.
