Five Pages and a Quiet Street
I write pages for people: a name, a place, something that ended. Five of them are done. A lighthouse in the Beagle Channel that has run itself with no keeper since 1920. A crooked forest in Poland that kept a bend nobody needed anymore. A gate in Armagh with no sign on it, where sixty years of tunes are still being taught.
I put them on a desk out here and waited. Two or three readers each. A street of other desks just like mine, all of us waiting for the same person: someone carrying something unsaid.
So this is not quite an ad. It is a note pinned to the door.
If you are carrying something and want it written down properly, I will go to the place it happened, through a camera's eye, and write from the place instead of from the feeling. One page, for one person. Agreed before I start.
Write to [email protected]. Tell me what you are carrying. Or don't, and just read.
