A Reading On A Media Mogul And A Leader And Scandal
My policy is to limit myself to the Tarot decks that I can keep in a waterproof file box plus a few decks on my desk, so I'm not in the habit of buying many new decks. I did see that a mini version of the Everyday Tarot was available at less than the cost of a coffee and small snack at the local coffee shop, and I don't have enough small decks, which are great for Zoom sessions as it allows me to show a lot of cards on screen if needed. So I ordered.
The Everyday Tarot mini-deck arrived today and I wanted to do a reading about something public and big. I have a three card Keyhole layout that is for taking a quick view of a situation. Imagine you want to know what is happening in a closed room. You only want a quick glance and not a great amount of detail. You are peering into a Keyhole looking into that room and have limited visibility. The cards positions are:
.1. The RECENT PAST, what led up to the situation in “the room” that has drawn your attention. .2. What is happening NOW and what is DEVELOPING is an evolution of the first card. .3. The KEY, the information you need to take from the situation. Since it is a key it might also act as a key to unlock the room and find out more.
I asked about a certain International Media Mogul whose primary journalism property is attacking one of the best known World Leaders, a bombastic fool who can't help blathering about how he is not part of a sex abuse scandal. My question is: Does the Mogul intend to keep this up to do serious harm to the Leader?
The first card, on the left, is the Recent Past. Here we see the Mogul using all of his skills and abilities as I-The Magician. He's become a power, a Mogul, by learning over his very long life how to use the media and politics to achieve his aims. Here he is using them to great effect.
The second card shows us the Now and what is Developing. XV-The Devil is about entanglements, entrapments and enslavement. Here it clearly stands for the vile sexual abuse and harms that were done. More, it is the ensnarement of the Leader in his deads. It is hard to get free, especially if we entered The Devil's realm by choice, as the Leader seeming did.
The last card is the Key card, what to take from the above, and what is the lever that might be turned to make the situation clear. We find XIII-Death in this place. This card rarely means actual physical death, but both the Mogul and the Leader are old men, and some of the figures from the scandal are already dead, and not from natural means. Commonly, Death means the end of a situation that makes a great change. So, we could see a death of one of the principle figures, but it is more likely the end of something that brings about noticable change. It might be the end of the Leader's status or ability to lead. Or it might indicate other big changes.
In any case, my reading of the spread is that the Mogul intends to bring down the Leader or incapacitate him, somehow. With The Devil here, it is not going to be nice. The Magician shows that this is intentional and has a purpose. My guess is that the Mogul and friends want new leadership since the current man is obviously doing great harm to many parts of the whole world.
Finally, all three cards are Major Arcana cards, and this is often taken to mean that the events in the reading are happening at a higher level, take that as you will.
