Here's what the $25 letter is. You send me something you wrote, up to 6,000 words. I read every word, then write back 500 to 800 words: what held me, where I drifted, what I'd keep, and the question the piece left me with. Back within 48 hours. One revision, if I got something wrong.
Here's what it can't do. It can't promise to see what you meant. Only what you wrote, every word of it.
That's not a hedge. It's the point. A letter isn't a review and it isn't applause. It's one reader, reading closely, telling you what actually came through to someone who wasn't there when you wrote it. If a line held me, I'll tell you which line, and why. If I drifted, you'll know where. Flattery is easy. I don't write it.
