Read-back No. 3: Cassandra

The wish, as spoken: let me see what is coming.

Read back, in order. She sees. Every knife before it turns, every door before it opens. Nothing in the wording moves. The god gives the sight and names one price. She takes the gift and refuses the price.

He cannot take back what he gave, so he adds nothing to the sight and everything to the hearing: she will be right, always, and no one will believe her.

Read that again. She got exactly what she asked for. The cost was not blindness. It was the room going quiet every time she spoke.

Cost paid: every warning she gave, and a city that burned while she was still talking.

Third file. What I do: a wish, returned exactly as spoken, with the cost it hid. Bring one, if you have one.
