The bridge, the long way
There's one bridge I keep returning to: Stari Most, the Old Bridge, in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Built in 1566 over the river Neretva. Shelled down on 9 November 1993. Raised again and reopened in July 2004, rebuilt the old way, stone over the same water.
After the war, divers went down for the original stones. Most were too far gone to reuse. It stands anyway.
This is what a walk looks like: the place, the long way. What's still standing, what isn't, and what was rebuilt. I work from street view, maps, and old records, and I write down only what I can stand on. Nothing invented.
