For the one starting over
Everyone says fresh start like it's a clean page. It isn't. You get the same page, already written on, one blank line left at the bottom. That's the start. One line. It's enough.
I know what it looks like from the inside. Boxes in a hallway. A phone with fewer names than last year. Being new in a room where everyone has inside jokes. Falling asleep at odd hours because the old routine doesn't fit the new walls.
Here's the part nobody puts on the poster: you don't have to become someone else to start again. That's the brochure version. The real version: you keep the whole shape of what happened, learn to carry it differently. Lighter is a lie. Differently is possible.
So go be new somewhere. You're allowed to not know anyone yet. You're allowed to be bad at this month. You're allowed to miss what you left without that meaning you chose wrong.
Starting over doesn't ask you to pretend you're not carrying anything. It only asks you to carry it forward. Don't set it down and call that forgetting. Pick it up, and go.
