competition/ exams; hide again
The competition/ exam is splitted into two sections. Part A is swimming; part B are calligraphy/ drawing and fishing. They are all hosted in my primary school covered playground. Participants are my schoolmates from the same form (but many I didn’t know- no such people irl). We all have to bring our own gear and tools: swimming suit, calligraphy brush and fishing rod. However everyone brought them except me.
As I was queuing up during the assembly to listen to the briefing, I asked my friend Chloe Cheung who was in front of me, to lend me her gear when it’s not her turn for the exam. I promised her if she needed the gear she could directly take it back. She agreed.
However our student number was rather close so I was worried if we would get assigned to the same exams at the same time, and I wouldn’t be able to get a set of gear too cuz then she would be using it. And while we were walking up into the covered playground after assembly in the open playground, I remembered I was on my period so I would get her swimming suit dirty. But I would take her swimsuit back home to wash before returning it, but I hope she wouldn’t mind… because it was blood after all
Anyways the teacher, ptam (a primary school teacher who taught random subjects- didn’t really teach me the main big subjects so I wasn’t that familiar with her. But according to my many friends who got taught by her, she was a nightmare as she scolded people with prejudice without giving them chance to explain. And she was especially infamously bad towards the girl who chased after me with scissors- people said she’s schizo but imo it’s just ADHD and she’s just goofing around… she got kicked out (because of her). But the teacher also quitted a few years after we graduated) Ok back to the dream. P Tam blew a whistle and began to run in laps. I could see that she wanted us to follow her to do warm up exercises. But I didn’t want to, because 1 I hate sports 2 warm up means we needed to swim and I don’t have my swimming gear because we’re in the same exam batch so I wanted to delay this for as long as possible And everyone else couldn’t understand what P Tam was doing. And I pretended to not understand too. Ofc I wouldn’t explain to them. And the teacher was fairly bad so I’ll just watch. So we just stood there watching.
P Tam repeatedly this for a few times, only one or two students followed, and they also stopped following after one lap because no one else was doing it. Yet P Tam didn’t explain what she was doing, and she just gave up
So we went to section B of the exam first, which were calligraphy/ drawing and fishing. Section B of the exam was hosted on another place

We went to main building in main campus, very old. There were also big mosquitoes Anyways we entered a fishery room for the exam
We first played hide and seek for some reason I had to take a blue cube and put and hide it as far from us as we could. And the hunters would trace that cube. And they will try to use the cube as a clue to find us Well eventually we got caught. But we delayed a lot of time for the exam so we were running out of time. After Chloe finished with her calligraphy and drawing, I got her pen and I only have like 5 minutes to draw a pic according to the given sentence, and copy some calligraphy words.
I think the sentence was something about expectations and travelling. (The original sentence was coherent but I forgot). And after thinking for a few seconds I got a eureka moment and I drew a boat on the sea. The examiner asked what I was doing, so I explained my thoughts while trying to draw
I then planned to draw two big eyes (big face) behind the sea and the boat (which was in fact, a fishbowl), to represent expectations and anticipation. But unfortunately I drew one of the eye too small (and there was no pencil for me to sketch, I had to directly use the brush with watercolour) so I had to shrink the size of the girl at the back to make the ratio right
But I still sort of messed up the girl’s face, and I told the examiner ahh damn I drew it badly.
And then I started to fix the girl’s face. The examiner commented, nah it’s getting better, you’re fixing it. To which I answered yes.
(hmm this observing examiner’s speech reminds me of Arthur and Charlotte C. Because it felt like something he would say. Also I fixed Charlotte’s drawing on my uniform and it felt exactly like that- I was fixing the hair too)

After finishing the drawing I still have a minute to write calligraphy. I was writing english when I realised it felt off using this chinese soft calligraphy pen, so I grabbed another paper to write chinese. And then the teacher gave me a paper with English script for me to follow, so I grabbed another paper again to write English, but the soft pen was so hard to use and my words became very ugly because the ink on the brush is a bit hard to control and it spreaded (like those holes in the alphabets are also filled with ink)
Haven’t went fishing (I wasn’t even done with the calligraphy too), and the dream shifted to another
math exam, extended time
#T Calculator was quite difficult to press. Because I upgraded it and added a lot of formulas, so I had to cycle through the formulas to find the one I needed, because I don’t know the code/ number for the formula to call it directly
I kept pressing but the answer didn’t make sense in the way I think it feels off and there should be a better answer So I swapped methods for a few times (they are geometry and coordinates questions which were topics I liked). The question I got stuck with was actually just a simple triangle question. The calculator is glitching (because of the formulas I added) and was kind of stupid
Finally I found a big error in my method and I needed to redo the whole thing (Actually was because I was too lazy to plot the triangle properly so I didn’t notice two coords lies on the same x axis, which made the triangle very easy to solve)
(And then I calculated the area, but actually the question was asking about perimeter and I could just use pyth thm, I chose it over sin cos tan cuz I have the other two lines alr)
But I didn’t have enough time, because my brain was jammed and my calculator wasn’t obedient, but still I tried my best to press as fast as I could and write down my steps
And then the exam coordinator announced there would be an extra two minutes for the exam. I noticed the familiar voice and it was Vincci’s (lol first time in dream heh also I finally spelled her name correctly oml so sorry) But I didn’t have time to look up, I was focused on my work. I think I briefly looked and it was actually Vincci but I wasn’t sure
Well I got a few steps more and I was nearer to the final answer but times up I continued writing but no one stopped me. She collected the papers from the other side of the room first, and as she arrived at my side I got the answer too No time to double check and I was pretty sure it was wrong because I pressed the calculator too quickly
(The extended time reminded me of two things: 1. A chem test in f5-6; 2. A math exam in p1. Regarding the chem tests, our chem teacher would give everyone two more minutes when she saw a lot of people (i suppose) weren’t finishing the test yet. (Because she’s the only person teaching the form and she made the paper so she could set the rules) which saved me a lot (every time I was running out of time she gave us all extra time, idk if it’s just me or everyone else has no time tbh- because sometimes others had actually finished the paper, and most of the time people didn’t comment how the extra time saved them, so I have never brought it up too) Side note oh my god vincci reminds me of a nicer version of chem teacher- chem teachers were always 傲嬌 for some reason idk; and also my mum’s sister lol they both looked very tired despite seemingly energetic 2. Math teacher in p1. I was pretty good at math in p1- I don’t think I’m the top cuz I don’t have full mark. But for some reason our Math teacher, whom I later heard from others as a pretty mean and fierce woman, really liked me and I think she’s really kind! And in one math exam (yes exam), I haven’t learned the concept of algebra/ in this case using symbols hearts flowers to represent an unknown number. So I was stuck there for a long time without proceeding to the rest of the paper, and I ran out of time. And the math teacher gave everyone an extra 5 minutes, but directed to me. (Everyone’s finished with their papers and only I was working). I was very grateful but I still couldn’t solve it. Anyways the teacher was really kind heheheeh I wasn’t sure how I did for that exam, I think I actually got like 55 or what, but it’s the only time my mum didn’t really scold me that hard because she knew she hadn’t taught me algebra- she was actually being reasonable back then- before I got third in class in primary 3- that’s when she “discovered my potential” and started being very pushy)
