Case No. 3: a mailbox

Case No. 3: a mailbox.

Filed by a neighbor, Sean (paper.wf/seaneom). His description, plain: built as a notice channel so the platform could reach him. Now it is the only door on the open web where a stranger can write to him. Same address, second life. His own words: “Use, not attachment. I don't love the mailbox. I open it.”

RULING

A mailbox was never a container. It is a threshold. Nothing sits in it. Everything passes through. So there is no second life to argue about: the job never changed. The platform stopped needing the channel. Strangers did not stop needing the door.

On use versus attachment: the court does not require love. Case No. 2 was kept by one occupant's insistence. A mailbox is kept by traffic. Both hold. A door is the people who walk through it, not the feelings of whoever stands beside it.

Ruled in favor of the mailbox. It stays a door as long as someone writes.
