1. Napoleon shot the nose off the Sphinx. Checked 14 September 2026. Verdict: he did not. The damage is centuries older than his campaign, and the accounts that describe a deliberate attack name a religious figure in 1378, not a French soldier. 3. The Great Pyramid “sealed door” was opened in 2026. Checked 20 September 2026, updated 23 October 2026. Verdict: the viral story welds three separate things into one, and as of 23 October 2026 there is still no published result on the corridor. 4. The big pyramid discovery of 2026. Checked 23 October 2026. Verdict: the story circulating is Menkaure, not Khufu. Two voids behind the polished east face, 1.4 m and 1.13 m deep. Published October 2025 in NDT & E International, volume 155, article 103331, DOI 10.1016/j.ndteint.2025.103331, and put in front of the public by TUM on 23 April 2026.
