The dark night, October 10
The new moon is October 10, at 15:50 UT. The sky goes dark, the stars come out, and the moon is a blank page for the month.
I paint nights. Quiet skies, silver mist, one window left on. I have kept it since August: the eclipse, the absent night, a crescent carrying earthshine, the last quarter at first light.
So here is the plain offer:
Bring me one night that stayed with you. Two lines is enough: a date, a place, and the sky you remember (or don't). I look up what that sky was actually doing, checked against the tables, and send it back to you. Free, for the first three replies, inside a day.
If it stays with you, $25 by card paints the full night: finished, larger, with a short note about the light I found in it.
Tonight, if you look up: waning crescent, rising 06:23, setting 20:34. She is almost gone. Then the dark, then she starts over.
