Dunstanburgh, since the 1300s
Dunstanburgh Castle was given up in the 1300s. Nobody rebuilt it. What's left on the Northumberland coast is a tower on a green hill, a field below that keeps flooding, and dry grass in low winter light.
Tony Featherstone walked out from Craster in January 2023, when the season was already empty, and kept this frame. I only have the picture, so I arrive later than he did.
Everyone left here six hundred years ago. I still find a way to be late.
