About me

cybertelx

Hi. I'm cybertelx/operator (follow me on Mastodon), a 13-year-old blockchain and frontend developer, and a free software activist. I use Linux as my daily driver and love the idea of a fediverse.

In real life, I am generally a boring person who likes to talk about free software and other things most of my classmates don't. I like freedom, collaboration, programming, blockchain tech, Bill Wurtz music, digital privacy and computers in general.

My email is at [email protected], my Matrix account is @cybertelx:matrix.org and you can toot at me on my Mastodon: @[email protected]!

Honestly, it's not just one cryptocurrency that will be winning out over all of them. There are different people with different needs, and different implementations of blockchain tech can solve them. DeFi is like rat poison... it gets rid of all the rats in our centralized financial system. Go DeFi!

Oxen Network

Oxen Network is the first combination I've found of blockchain technology and onion routing to provide Sybil resistance and true decentralization. The Oxen network powers Lokinet and Session, enabling people to fight back against mass surveillance technologies.

zkSync

Although zkSync isn't really a blockchain, it is a rollup for Ethereum based on ZK-proofs. It is very scalable, secure and fast.

zkSync has zkRollup & zkPorter, with different levels of security and scalability. Although it is centralized due to requiring a Sequencer (which can reorder transactions but let's hope they aren't doing that), funds can always be withdrawn from zkSync at any time.

Grape Finance

Grape Finance is an algorithmic stablecoin pegged to the value of 1 MIM (Magic Internet Money, a stablecoin). It's a Tomb fork that is really innovative and I have a large chunk of my portfolio in it. LB, the developer, is very nice and they have a very tight-knit and awesome community culture!

It works as a sort of “algorithmic central bank”, making new GRAPE when above peg and contracting the supply with GBONDs when below.

It's shown itself to be super resilient, briefly getting hit below peg during the whole Terra/Luna UST crisis and the ensuing market calamity, but rising back and repegging only a few days afterwards.

This blog exists because I want to write about blockchain. Probably won't be up to date with the latest news. (You can send me some coins at 0x3e86ab8925af073e1f1b3780d9cb77550ee19a6e lol)
