I have been catching up on these lectures as they are fascinating. The LISA talk was also good as it gave a lot of background information as to the science behind this. Exciting times to come, even though it may be a decade before the mission is launched in to space.

Supermassive black holes exist in the centres of Galaxies, there is one at the centre of the Milky way galaxy which was photographed a few years ago. The photo below is from the Wikipedia article.

NASA's Perseverance Mars rover discovers more evidence of building blocks of life on Mars. Although the organic molecules were not necessarily the products of biological processes, it does raise the chances Mars once had life and could indicate we're looking in the right place.

Do you know how #astronomers are hunting for #exoplanets ? Most of them are discovered with the transit and/or radial velocity techniques.

While the hunt for exoplanets is developing at pace, closer to home we keep finding new moons, esp around Jupiter. This week we found 12 new moons.

I just found an interesting paper on arXiv about wormholes. While wormholes are still hypothetical,, this paper looks at how we can look for them, formation ,structure.

This is an interesting development, astronomers have found something they have been spending years searching for. Not sure where these stars appear on the The Hertzsprung-Russell diagram.

This is a really interesting video from PBS Space Time.

So if Black holes leak away mass via Hawking Radiation, does this mean that as white holes also exist, and expel matter rather than suck matter in. then are they also contributing to a mass reduction. This probably assumes the theory that there is a white hole at the other end of the Black hole, otherwise it raises questions as to where does all that matter go?
