In an effort to help people keep kids occupied over the CoronaVirus (Covid-19) crisis. I am helping my local library with running a virtual code club. To this end I have decided to work through the scratch module 1 activities.
I have created a new studio for these completed projects.
Please do not contact me regarding joining this studio, the group will be invite only. It will also serve for a new studio for code club when we get back.
My personal goals for this year are to gain meaningful employment and develop my skills and knowledge further.
Education and CPD
I intend to keep my CPD updated, keep attending courses and keep networking with people so people know who I am and what I am doing. I also intend to keep learning with OpenLearn and other platforms.
Employment
My goal is to find employment that will make use of my current skill set and experience. Even if this is just a few hours to begin with. It should open up further opportunities.
Volunteer work
STEM Ambassador
I hope to be undertaking more assignments as a STEM ambassador.
Code Club
Hopefully this will keep going, keep developing and attracting new attendees.
Tech Jam
Hopefully 2020 will see a boost in numbers. This will also increase the knowledge base available to other attendees.
Torbay Trojans
Football season does not start until about April. I anticipate being back on the side line helping out with the officiating, and the team generally.
I have been building some small electronics projects based on the 74HC/LS series of Integrated circuits. In essence these are small boards with a 14 pin IC holder soldered on, along with header pins of different colours for +V, GND, Input and outputs.
so far I have built two based on the 74HC00 Quad 2 input NAND gate and one based on the 74HC08 Quad 2 input AND gate. So far they work really well. I am hoping that these can be both powered by and used via a Raspberry Pi or Arduino. The intention is to build some boards up for use in teaching about digital logic.
