2022/7/30 The day is divided up into parts. The night, which is half of the day. The morning, afternoon, and evening. Other than the night the morning is the longest at a quarter of the day. Then afternoon is from anytime after noon to about the end of a workday, when evening starts. Evening turns to night at sundown. In most places that's the shortest portion. This is very different to how it all feels though. 'Morning the longest part of the daytime? Pshh, impossible! I can barely get a thing done before I must be out the door to get to work, and if you think anything gets done at work before noon you're nuts!' So it goes, morning, for many, is packed with routines and context changes. While time in the morning may be plentiful, free time is often nowhere to be found. It can feel very quick when you're either on autopilot or rushing or just busy. Evening can feel like the longest part of the day. Often our eveningtimes extend into the night but even without that, having evenings full of free time gives them the impression of being larger than they are.
