finding surgeon

#mum #ruth (actually didn't appear)

Mum liked to be close with famous people. In the dream she went for surgery. After coming out, she said there was a famous doctor (a pretty big neurosurgeon in our faculty) who was on the next bed of her surgery (as a patient). She told me to find him for her in order to let her say words like she recognises you and they can be closer or whatever

So, me, still in my scrubs (I work in that hospital), I went to search for that doctor. I walked around in the hospital but there was no sign of the doctor. Maybe he already left after his minimally invasive surgery. I followed two staff to the back corridors where they led to different doors. I entered one door. It was the backdoor of a supermarket (so the hospital and supermarket were interconnected)

I was in the supermarket. I was a bit confused but I briefly walked around to find the surgeon. Seems not here. I saw the staff that went through the door entered another backdoor. And they were talking about mental health team or whatever. So I sneakily followed through the backdoor and it was a staircase. One of the staff went up. After he (I assume it was a man) went up, I stood by the staircase of the original supermarket floor. I want to wait for the man to either come down or I wait long enough and go have a check.

In the middle of waiting, a figure who was wearing kind of punky clothes (in a good looking way) walked by. She ignored my presence. (maybe because I was hiding/ acting low-key). I looked and felt the person was like Ruth. So I kind of act coughing or humming songs because I wasn't sure so I wouldn't directly address her. But when I look closer, it wasn't, so I was relieved and glad I didn't yell and say hi to the person.

Later I went up a floor to see what was it. It was a mental health wellness room. But rather creepy. Because the staircase was dark and was made of old looking concrete. And the mental health room was on the top of the staircase. (There is one more section of the staircase going up, but it ends into the wall, so I wouldn't count that as one more floor, although it said 8/F)

Anyways, I looked inside. There was a young little girl in shocking pink dress, with her back towards me. She was talking to a woman (at first I thought it was my secondary school art teacher, but soon I realised it was Ming Yi teacher aka Cantonese opera lesson teacher – yes our secondary school has niche mandatory courses)

Since the woman was sitting towards the direction of the door, I was scared of being discovered, so I hurried down the staircase.

Back on the supermarket floor of the staircase, actually there was a side path which led to a hidden corridor to all classroom doors. The path was initially blocked by a double door. The first one you need to press a button to unlock it. The second one you can just push it open. Coincidentally a staff walked by and just pressed the button. So I followed through. I used a little rectangular thing on the floor to hold the door open, because I couldn't see such a button on the other side of the door. I was guessing if I needed a staff card to access, then in that case I would be stuck here. The second door was simple, I just push it open, but I am worried again if it shut and it was a one-way door and I couldn't open from the other side. So I was holding the second door open (because there was only one door “holder”? and I used it on the first door)

So the dream ended here with me holding the second door open.

my own loft became family trip

#dad

Japan trip! With me alone. I was checking in a place with my luggage. There were two elevators, I entered the one which came earlier. I checked my tag on the room key, it said 6/F. So I was finding the button to 6/F, when I realised this elevator is for odd numbered floors only. But I was too lazy to get out and wait for the other elevator. I blinked and looked away from the buttons for a brief time. I looked back and the 6/F button was here. I pressed it. At first there was no response (no light after pressing button, lift wouldn't move), but after pressing it multiple times the lift worked. And the lift opened at 5/F which was what it was supposed to do at first place (odd numbers) And I was slightly scared of elevators too so I got off quickly. (scared because I had way way way too many nightmares about elevators and escalators not reaching the floor I wanted when I was small. So usually in the dream as long as it opens and it was close enough to my floor, I would just leave. Because they could never put me on the perfect floor)

I got out and walked for one floor with my luggage. (It wasn't tiring at all) I checked my tag on the key again and found my room. I entered with the key. The room was really nice. Very white, clean, the furniture was sleek. I quickly checked if the door locks work, and then I close my door immediately. I continued to look around in the room. Big TV. Somehow there were three beds. One double bed in the middle, two single beds on the sides. It wouldn't be too worrying if there were only two beds in total, because I can still kind of rationalise why me, one person only, would have two beds (e.g. inviting friends over; room provider only has double person room) But now we have three beds. And then I looked back at the door and found it was open. I tried to close it but it wouldn't click, it would just open again I figured out there was a silk scarf which was tied onto the door knob that was stuck between the locking mechanism. Me, slightly confused because there wasn't any when I just came in, removed the scarf and threw it on the floor outside. Because I couldn't move/ nudge the long scarf away from the lock, the only way is to untie it and throw it away. Now the lock worked. I looked back into the room and saw my dad's shoes. And then I looked back at the lock and it didn't work again. And I heard my parents outside. They were checking into the same room. But seemed they didn't have the key. (Maybe because I took the only key and went in first). But because the lock wasn't working, they just marched in with their luggage.

Turned out this mini studio/ loft was actually our family hotel room and we were going on a trip... I was very disappointed. Because when I entered the room alone, I was overjoyed to see my own new space and I can try to manage my own living as a capable independent and functional adult. (I thought I was either going on an exchange or travelling alone.) But it was a family trip. And family was a stressor.

Mum was like, why are you putting up such a face? We paid for this expensive family trip despite running out of money, so that we can make you happy! I was pretty upset but I didn't reply anything back. Because it seemed like they were deliberately making me guilty.

Really quickly after they put down their luggage and roaming around the room loudly, they wanted to go out together (with me) to explore the neighbourhood (and I think to stalk my friends). (which for some reason made sense, because one time our PBL group went for dinner at my neighbourhood, and we sat near the entrance glass panel,,, and they walked by coincidentally and looked at every one of us amusingly. They told me later on when I got home. I was oblivious to this if they didn't say. Rather creepy hhahaah)

Before going out we needed to turn off the TV. (They turned it on and was blasting mainland TV shows...) It took so long and many tries. Mum tried a few times before giving the remote to me to turn it off. But I couldn't too. It would just turn black for a sec and resumed the show. Anyways finally I figured it out and turned it off. But Dad wanted to try it himself using his own way, so he took the remote and was pressing buttons on the modem also. I was pretty annoyed because I already turned the TV off, he was just wasting time problem solving a now solved problem He turned it on again with the buttons and couldn't shut it down. Mum was yelling at him. I was annoyed. Dad was annoyed we were being impatient. Finally Mum told me to just turn off the TV using my method and ignore what Dad was doing. So now the TV was off.

Now they were picking hats to wear before going out. I thought it was just a simple task. I just see the one which matched my outfit and I pick that. And then I also picked one for Mum because she was wasting time and her taste was awful. And then Mum began to kept praising me for such a good taste. I felt uneasy and a bit scared.

Dream ended. Sigh! I was picturing a nice quiet overseas exchange me-time! Now it was a noisy and unnecessarily hectic family trip. Awful.
