Journey on the dark seas Part 4
After finishing his tea, the young boy fell asleep. He must have been exhausted, Erik thought, as he returned to the deck of the ship. The sky was now blue and sunny, the sea had calmed down and was crystal clear. He continued sailing north.
As he scanned the sea, Erik noticed black ooze-like stains in the water again. He wondered what they could be. Over time, the stains became more frequent and seemed to be growing in size.
Hours passed, and the sun began to set. Finally, the boy awoke and came up to the deck.
“Hi, how are you?” Erik asked.
“My head hurts, and I am hungry,” the boy replied.
“Alright, I have fish soup in the cooking pot if you want.”
“Sounds good, but can I trust you? I don't know you or where I am.”
“Well, I saved your life; you were drowning. Besides, you have no other choice. We're in the middle of the ocean, and if my calculations are correct, we're days away from dry land.”
“I guess that's true. Okay, then I would really appreciate some fish soup.”
“Alright, let me heat it for you.”
Erik went into the small kitchen of his boat and lit the fire under the pot. Afterward, they both sat down to have dinner.
