Reality about incognito mode

The incognito feature of every browser is sub optimal or quite useless.

The only thing they do is not store your history in the local copy of your browser.

In some browsers you can’t even be sure whether what you search in incognito is separated from you Google, Microsoft, etc accounts are not.

So, it gives a sense of false of privacy when you have the bare minimum of not having things in history. To further understand read the warning when you open incognito or private browsing.

Still many people use it for not having the history part. I mean it is very useful.

My use of it

I too use it regularly. In fact that is actually a problem for people who use porn.

For example using it in someone else’s phone is good. I mean you don’t want to see their searches or their suggestions. You don’t also pollute their algorithms.

But using it daily in our day to day basis is bad for us.

I automatically go to it. In fact any browser and any device. I default to incognito. I have never had history. In fact right now, I am forcing myself to use the default option. So that I would be signed into substack and be able to post whenever I want.

It feels unnatural to me. To use browser how most people in the world use it.

I bookmark a lot of sites. Sometimes I would have started searching something good but since I started it in incognito it would irritate me to copy paste them to normal mode.

So naturally when asking weird questions in the internet, etc I use it.

Relation to porn

But mainly I used to use it for video porn. Now it is for comic porn or sex comics. Also sometimes erotica.

Why using

It is fast and there is less friction. If I am having a single horny thought, then I can automatically search something in a new tab. It is much faster than opening incognito window and then searching there.

It leads to giving into temptations. For example you may be searching for something. Maybe a suggestive picture, ad, video comes. Even if I am tempted by it, I would not be so ready to open it the next second. Since I would need to go to incognito tab. Or I may need to check history and deleted it If I ever used normal browser for that.

It also gives you more freedom. I don’t exactly know how to say it. It makes you feel more unafraid, more open minded. But it makes also you search more 18+ content, etc. Maybe the false sense of privacy. Maybe it is because whatever you do it will never be in history at least. And most likely you are not going to see anything illegal. So it makes you be unafraid I suppose.

I think only after experiencing it you may understand. Or I haven’t tried my best to understand and explain it.

Use normal mode

So, don’t use incognito a lot. Never default to using it.

It can make it harder to give into temptations, etc.
